Mount Kinabalu’s specialty lies in its location at a renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site and Global Geopark—Kinabalu Park. Nature lovers will be delighted to be able to witness the many variations of flora and fauna that are to be found on the mountain at different altitudes.

Mount Kinabalu, along with other upland areas of the Crocker Range is well-known worldwide for its tremendous botanical and biological species biodiversity with plants of Himalayan, Australasian, and Indo-Malayan origin.

Details Itinerary

Pick up from your hotel at Kota Kinabalu at 6.00am (shared transportation). Take approximately 2 hours drive to Kinabalu Park Headquarter for registration of your Mount Kinabalu Budget Package. [Passports (International)/Original Identification Card (Malaysian) are required for verification during registration].

After registration, collect your individual packed lunch and meet your mountain guide [Wear your Climbing Tag at all times]. Unneeded luggage can be stored at Sutera Sanctuary Lodge’s reception counter at MYR 12 per luggage at own expenses. You may engage porter at Kinabalu Park. Porter fees are paid directly to the porter at MYR 14.00/kg (Timpohon Gate > Laban Rata > Timpohon Gate). Transfer to Timpohon Gate together with your mountain guide. Start your adventure of 6KM trekking to Panalaban.

Overnight at Panalaban / Lemaing Hostel (unisex shared room with basic facilities). Dinner start serving from 4.30pm to 7pm, at Laban Rata Restaurant. Enjoy your day!

Day 1: Kota Kinabalu > Kinabalu Park > Panalaban / Lemaing Hostel
Day 2: Panalaban / Lemaing Hostel > Low’s Peak > Kinabalu Park HQ > Kota Kinabalu

Wake up at 1.30am and gear up. Supper start serving from 2am to 3.30am, at Laban Rata Restaurant. Start your journey towards the Summit of Low’s Peak @ 4095.2m with your assigned Mountain Guide. Cut-off time for Sayat-Sayat Check Point is 5.30am (Climbers who arrive at Sayat- Sayat Check Point after 5.30am will not allowed to proceed with the summit climb). Experience the glorious sunrise over the majestic Mount Kinabalu. Take beautiful photos at the summit plateau before descending to Laban Rata for a well earned breakfast. Check out and trek down to Timpohon Gate.

Take the Park’s shuttle transfer – KOKTAS, from Timpohon Gate to Kinabalu Park’s Headquarter. After that, enjoy your late lunch at Panataran Restaurant.

CONGRATULATIONS! You can now collect your Certificate of Achievement from our team. Transfer back to your hotel at Kota Kinabalu, takes approximately 2 hours. Please take note that this is a shared transportation arrangement, climbers have to wait for the whole group to complete the climb before going back to the city.
