Mount Kinabalu, along with other upland areas of the Crocker Range is well-known worldwide for its tremendous botanical and biological species biodiversity with plants of Himalayan, Australasian, and Indo-Malayan origin.

Details Itinerary

0600hrs: Meet at hotel in Kota Kinabalu city area and transfer to Kinabalu National Park. The journey takes approximately 2 hours drive. Mount Kinabalu is the main attraction in Kinabalu National Park, also known as Malaysia's First World Heritage Site designated by UNESCO.

Upon arrival at the park HQ, pre-registration at Sabah Parks' operation office before meeting your appointed mountain guide for a short briefing. Packed lunch en route and transfer to Timpohon Gate.

Start your trek, the journey takes about 4-5 hours to reach Panalaban or mountain accommodation area. Along the way up, observed the pitcher plants, rhododendrons abound and 1,200 species of orchids and oaks trees that had been discovered.

1500hrs: Check into Pendant Hut (3,289 m) and settle in.

1530hrs: Attend the mandatory via ferrata familiarization in Pendant Hut and meet your Mountain Torq trainer.

1800hrs: Dinner will be provided and rest for the night.

Day 1: Kota Kinabalu City > Kinabalu Park HQ > Pendant Hut
Day 2: Pendant Hut > Low’s Peak > Kinabalu Park HQ > Kota Kinabalu

0130hrs: Wake up, an early morning supper will be provided.

0230hrs: Start hiking up to explore the summit, Low's Peak (4,095.2 m) and expected to reach the summit in time of sunrise.

0600hrs: Descend from Low's Peak to meet your Mountain Torq trainer.

0715hrs: Meet your Mountain Torq trainer at Sayat-Sayat Slab (3,800 m) for Walk the Torq via ferrata experience (introductory via ferrata, French Grade PD).

0930hrs-1000hrs: Return to Pendant Hut for a well earned breakfast.

1100hrs: Check out of Pendant Hut and descend to Timpohon Gate.

1600hrs-1700hrs: Estimated time arrival at Timpohon Gate. Transfer to park HQ and meet our representative to collect your summit achievement certificate and via ferrata certificate or buy some souvenirs before proceed to a local restaurant nearby for a late lunch. After lunch, transfer back to your hotel in Kota Kinabalu city area.

1900hrs-2000hrs: Estimated time arrival in Kota Kinabalu city area.
