Details Itinerary

You are here in Nepal as you land at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Our hotel representative will receive you. They will transfer you to your hotel in a private vehicle.

Get some rest. You will have an individual room for yourself with good services. You can walk around your hotel in the evening.

Most of the tourists visit Thamel. It is a busy tourist hub in Kathmandu. There are lots of cafes where you can stay reading books. There are nightclubs and pubs where you can enjoy live music.

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu (1,350 m)
Day 2: Drive to Pokhara by Tourist Bus

Travel duration: 6 to 7 hours

Maximum altitude: 1,350 m

Trek distance: approx. 204 km

Our guide or representative will receive you at hotel early morning. We will get into a tourist bus to Pokhara.

The tourist bus is well facilitated. They have comfortable seats and wide windows. The bus stops twice in the 6 hours duration. At the stops, we will have lunch. Get some snacks if you need them.

We will reach Pokhara. Pokhara is the gateway to the Annapurna region. We will check into a hotel in Lakeside Pokhara.

We can enjoy around the lakeside in the evening. There are lots of tourists in Pokhara. Most of them stay in the lakeside area.

Day 3: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul
Trek to Tikhe Dunga

Trek distance: approx. 13 km

Trek duration: 4 to 5 hours

Maximum altitude: 1,480 m

From Pokhara, you will take a short drive towards Nayapul via the Baglung Highway, going around high hills covered in pine trees. From Nayapul, you will then begin your trek to Tikhedhunga, following a path through the thick woodlands. You will also pass through the small settlement of Birethanti along the way to reach Tikhe Dunga. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Tikhe Dunga.

Day 4: Trek from Tikhe Dunga to Ghorepani

After having a nice breakfast in the morning, we begin to trek towards Ghorepani village.

The trek begins with a gentle climb towards the steep climb on rock staircases to Ulleri. Ulleri is a big village of Magar inhabitants. We will see admirable views of Himchuli and Annapurna South from there.

From Ulleri, we take a gentle uphill climb through Rhododendron and Oak Jungles. On the way to the Ghorepani village, we walk through the villages at Banthati and Nangethanti.

Walking for several hours, we finally reach Ghorepani village. Ghorepani village is a large village that sits on the top of a hill. From the village, we can get a marvelous vista of both Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range.

Day 5: Trek from Ghorepani to Poon Hill.
Then continue trek to Tadapani

Trek distance: approx. 14 km

Trek duration: 7 hours

Maximum altitude: 3,210 m

We will start very early in the morning. The Ghorepani - Poon Hill trekking is a famous trek in the Annapurna region.

We will take a short one hour hike to Poon Hill. Situated at an elevation of 3,210 m, Poon Hill is one of the best vantage points. We can enjoy the magnificent Himalayan dawn.

The unobstructed sunrise over the high Himalayas from Poon Hill is astounding. We will see a complete Himalayan range of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. We will get a sight of Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Lamjung Himal, and many others.

We will spend about an hour at Poon Hill and will return back to Ghorepani. After breakfasting at Ghorepani, we will begin our day hike. From Ghorepani, we will make a climb along the ridges. Crossing the Pine and Rhododendron forests, we reach Deurali. From Deurali, the trail descends to Banthanti and finally to Tadapani.

Day 6: Trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong

Trek Distance: approx. 7.6 km

Trek Duration: 5 hours

Maximum altitude: 2,170 m

From Tadapani, the trail descends down through Rhododendron forest. This is quite a continuous descent of about an hour. The trail drops down through beautiful terraced fields. After descending, we meet at Kimrong Khola. We cross over the suspension bridge at Kimrong Khola.

The descending portions are now done. The remaining part of the trail is an ascent uphill and a straight walk to Chhomrong. We walk through the beautiful Chule village. On following the trekking trail further, we will reach Chhomrong.

Chhomrong is a densely populated village. The village comprises Gurung communities. The people are very calm, cheerful, and friendly. Above the Chhomrong village, we will see some peaks like Mt. Annapurna south, Himchuli, and the Virgin Peak. The peaks are so close and so real!

Day 7: Trek from Chhomrong to Dovan

We start after a hot breakfast in Chhomrong. The trail descends down to Chomrong Khola. We will cross the suspension bridge over the Chhomrong Khola. We will then continue our walk uphill to a place called Khuldi Ghar. The trail passes through a dense and dark forest of Rhododendron and Oak.

From Khuldi Ghar, the trek route has a deep steep into a long, steep, and slippery stone staircase. We trek deep into bamboo and rhododendron forests. Alongside the trail, we will see large fern species.

The last part of the trek completes with a 2-hour ascent to Dovan. Overnight in Dovan on eighth day of 13 Days Annapurna Base Camp Itinerary.

Day 9: Trek from MBC to Annapurna Base Camp (Sanctuary)

Trek distance: approx. 2.9 km

Trek duration: MBC to ABC: 2 - 3 hours

Maximum altitude: 4130m, Annapurna Base Camp

After early morning breakfast, we will trek to Deurali. We will take a short break at Deurali and will start again towards Hinko Cave.

Before arriving at the Annapurna Base Camp, we reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp, 3700 meters. Lots of trekkers stop here for an overnight stay.

We will walk further towards Annapurna Base camp, our ultimate destination. With full power and excitement, we reach Annapurna Base Camp, 4130m. The base camp sits between the mountains. Thus some call it Annapurna Sanctuary.

The base camp area is majestic. It offers spectacular vistas of the snow-capped Himalayas so clear, and so near. The Himalayan range includes Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli Peak, Fishtail, Lamjung Himal and Barah Shikhar.

Day 10: Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo

Trek distance: approx. 10.7 km

Trek duration: 6 hours

Maximum altitude: 2,300 m

The trail from Annapurna Base Camp descends down to Bamboo via MBC and Dovan on the tenth day of Annapurna Base Camp Trekking 13 Days Itinerary. Trekking from Annapurna Base Camp to Dovan takes nearly 7 hours. We trek down to Bamboo by following the earlier trail.

Be extra careful while descending through rugged sections. Overnight in Bamboo.

Day 11: Trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda

Hike distance: 8 km

Hike duration: 4 to 5 hours

Maximum altitude: 2,130 m(Chhomrong)

From Bamboo, we follow the same trail back to Chomrong. Enjoy the walk and the lovely surroundings. The trek goes uphill from Bamboo to Kuldi. From Kuldi, the trek takes a descending section along the Chhomrong Khola.

From Chhomrong Khola, we climb through the dense forest of rhododendron and pines. We will now follow the stone steps to Chomrong. After we reach Chhomrong, we will descend to Jhinu Danda. Jhinu Danda is the place where there is the famous natural hot water spring. Relax your tight muscles in the hot water. Enjoy the bath in a natural hot spring. Walk to Chhomrong for an overnight stay.

Day 12: Trek from Jhinu Danda to Siwar to Nayapul drive to Pokhara

Trek distance: approx. 9 km

Travel duration: 4 to 5 hours

Pokhara altitude: 820 m

Following the leveled trail from Jhinu, you will reach the village of Siwar, going through the cliff-flanked settlements and farms. Nayapul is situated just a mile further from Siwar. From Nayapul, you will then drive back to Pokhara. Here, you can rest and enjoy the lively Lakeside. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Pokhara.

Day 13: Drive back to Kathmandu early in the morning by Tourist Bus

Trek distance: 204 km

Trek duration: 7 to 8 hours

Maximum altitude: 1,350 m

Bidding the Annapurna Mountains goodbye, you will then drive back to Kathmandu, following the same highway as before. Upon reaching the city, you will be dropped off at the Hotel. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 14: Final departure

The final day in Nepal is the last opportunity to enjoy shopping and touring Kathmandu Valley's cultural metropolis before departing for Tribhuvan International Airport on time.

Please note that this is the only guideline and outline program from day-by-day itinerary. There can be a lot of changes in those dates as per the weather and mountain conditions as well as personal health condition.

Day 8: Trek from Dovan to Machhapuchhre Base Camp(MBC)

Trek distance: approx. 13 km

Trek duration: Dovan- MBC: 3 hours

Maximum altitude: 3,700 m, MBC

Today we will trek all the way to Machhapuchchhre Base Camp (or MBC). This is a longer day. We will trek from Dovan to Deurali for lunch, at 3,230m. We start by climbing through bamboo forest and then through the forest of rhododendron on to Hinku Cave. This is all up hill 6.7km. After lunch we have another 2 hours and 30 minutes, mostly up hill all the way through the amazing Annapurna Valley as we move to Machhapuchchhre Base Camp at 3,700m.
