Mera Peak is a spectacular mountain peak in the Himalayas of Nepal. With an elevation of 6,475m, it is also the highest trekking peak in Nepal. Details Itinerary

Welcome to Nepal trekkers! Entering the country, the beautiful view of the Himalayas greets you. As you arrive nearer to the capital city, Kathmandu, you will see the areas filled with houses at every end.

The aerial view of Kathmandu valley is quite beautiful and unique. After landing at Tribhuvan International Airport, you head out to the terminal where our officials will be waiting for you.

Then they collect you up and drop you at your hotel, where you are greeted traditionally with garlands and tika. After that, the officials will help you check in to your rooms and leave for the day.

The remaining day is free, so you can do as you please. If you prefer roaming, then you can hit the markets that are lively throughout the day. However, it is noisy and crowded, so just a head's up for some cultural shock.

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu (1,350 m)
Day 2: Free and Arrangement Day

Feel free to include your background, experiences, and any unique aspects that set your business apart. Highlight your mission, values, and the benefits your customers can expect. If you have things to buy for the journey, then you can visit the local markets.

In the evening, we will have a brief summary of your trek and preparations at the hotel.

Day 3: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Paiya.

Flight duration: approx. 45 min

Maximum altitude (Lukla): 2,730 m

Trek duration: 5 to 6 hours

Maximum altitude (Paiya): 2,820 m

In this Mera peak climbing route, you will first take a scenic flight from the capital city of Kathmandu to Lukla. Lukla is the Everest region's entry point. The beautiful mountain flight will take you around 35 to 45 minutes. You will then start your journey from this point in Lukla and trek to Paiya.

The mesmerizing journey passes through beautiful and challenging landscapes in the foothills of the Himalayas. The beautiful journey starts after you have a delicious breakfast. The mountain flight also provides you with a sweeping scenic vista of the mountains.

Puyan remains located at an elevation of 2820 meters. The trekking trails are remote and pass through diverse settlements of the local people. These trails are yet to get developed and remain far away from modernization. There are also forests with many magnolias and rhododendron trees along the path.

The scenic vista of Cho Oyu and other Himalayan mountain peaks in the region is another highlight of trekking to Paiya. After trekking for 4 to 5 hours in the forested trails, you will reach the ultimate destination of Paiya. You can find a tea house to stay in for the night.

Day 4: Trek from Paiya to Pangum.

Trek duration: 5 to 6 hours

Maximum altitude: 2,846 m

On this day of the Mera Peak climbing in Nepal, our journey starts from Paiya. We pass through the trails observing the spectacular vista of Cho Oyu peak. You will traverse the magnificent Khari La Pass at an elevation of 2860 meters.

Khali La Pass is an excellent viewpoint to observe the incredible mountain peaks of the region. There you will arrive after trekking for almost 2 hours from Paiya. We will pass through the various challenging trails to arrive at the tea house where you will have your lunch.

You will pass through challenging trails to come to Pangum. It will take trekkers 2-3 hours to arrive at your destination. After arriving at this beautiful place, you will explore and rest tonight at the tea house at Pangum.

Day 5: Trek from Pangum to Ningsow.

The incredible trail from Pangum starts early in the morning as we will have our breakfast in the crisp mountain air. You will then traverse through the forest trails to arrive at our destination of Ningsow. The course of the first climb takes you on an uphill trail to arrive at Pangum La (3010 meters).

We will then cross the beautiful Inkhu Valley and trek to Bhumse. It is a lovely village settlement located at the remote location at the end of a cliff. After walking in the beautiful region for 4-5 hours, you will finally arrive at a teahouse. You will spend the night resting and socializing with your fellow trekkers in Ningsow.

Day 6: Trek from Ningsow to Chhetra Thanga

Trek duration: 4 to 5 hours

Maximum altitude: 3,110 m

We will trek through the beautiful trails to arrive at Chhetri Thanga from Ningsow. The courses of this trek take you through a hill climb on steep terrain to arrive at the destination.

The incredible forested trails of this region pass through the Ankhu Khola Valley. There are V-shaped valleys in the western edges, which is a beautiful viewpoint to observe the entire area. After arriving at the beautiful Chhetra Thanga, we will rest in the camp in the region, watching the night sky.

Day 7: Trek from Chhetra Thanga to Kothe (Mosom Kharka).

Trek Duration: 4 to 5 hours

Maximum altitude: 3,691 m

The trailer of this trek will take you to the beautiful destination of Mosom Kharka (Kothe). We will start our journey observing the beautiful Himalayas from the viewpoint of Chhetri Thanga.

From there, you can take a beautiful uphill climb to observe the entire landscape of the region, including Mera Peak. The trek trail passes through virgin landscapes with unexplored forested areas, finally arriving at Mosom Kharka. You will pass through the beautiful forested trails of many rhododendrons and pine trees.

The beautiful Inkhu Khola makes this environment quite enchanting for trekkers and travelers. Finally, you will arrive at small pasture land after a slight descent through the local settlements of the region. You can find yaks grazing in the pasture land with the yak herders. There you can sleep the night at a hut or camp.

Day 8: Trek from Kothe (Mosom Kharka) to Thangnak

We will wake up early with the golden Himalayan sunrise in Mosom Kharka. The trek on this section takes you to the destination of Thagnak in the region. You should take this trek very cautiously as there is a challenging section at an elevation of 4200 meters. You will also gain a lot of altitude beyond 4000m.

Hence, altitude sickness is quite a challenge amongst climbers and trekkers. Therefore you should trek slowly with proper acclimatization and hydration. After taking 5 to 6 hours, you will finally reach Thangnak. You can observe the majestic Mera Peak for the first time during this journey. After arriving at our destination, we will camp at Thagnak and rest overnight.

Day 9: Trek from Thangnak to Khare.

Trek duration: 6 to 7 hours

Maximum altitude: 4,900 m

During this journey from Thagnak to Khaare, you will pass through exciting trails at a higher altitude. We will trek through the natural pathways of the region to finally arrive at the beautiful Thangnak. The trekkers will pass to the majestic Dig Glacier, which offers scenic mountain views.

This includes the Himalayan peaks of the Everest Mahalangur range. You will climb the moraine from the Glacier, which is quite steep. Finally, after crossing the majestic Glacier, you will arrive at Dig Kharka. It is a scenic pasture land where yaks can be grazing along with their herders.

Trekking for 5-6 hours, you will finally be able to observe the beautiful Mera North from the scenic viewpoint in the region. We will camp overnight and spend the night socializing and resting overnight.

Day 10: Trek from Khare to Mera La and back to Khare(Acclamatize day & pre-climbing training)

Trek duration: 5 to 6 hours

Maximum altitude: 5,415 m

We will continue our trekking journey on this day from Khare as we climb to arrive at the mountain pass of Mera La (5415 meters). The beautiful Glacier trails provide you with the best views of the entire region. The Mera La route has many uphill and downhill terrains through glacial moraines.

We will explore this beautiful glacier area which provides an outstanding adventure. We will start your trek to Khare after exploring the region. We will explore around after arriving at Khare. There we rest and acclimatize further before sleeping at a camp.

Day 11: Trek from Khare to High Camp

Hike duration: 6 to 7 hours

Maximum altitude: 5,780 m

We will climb to the high camp from the base camp during this journey. The journey is steep, and hence, you should trek gently at a gradual pace. Since we are now acclimatized at the higher altitude region, we will head towards the high camp one more time.

On this day, it will be the first time we will spend the night at an elevation above 6000m. You can observe the entire Everest region mountains from the high camp, including Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and other glaciers.

Day 12: Trek from Mera HC to Summit and back to Mera HC

Trek duration: 7 to 8 hours

Maximum altitude: 6,475 m

This is the most critical journey of the Mera Peak. On this day, you will climb the summit of Mera Peak at an altitude of 6,475 m. The climb is your ultimate test during this adventure. We will start in the dark to arrive at the summit before sunrise. The trails pass through the beautiful trails, including tiny crevasses, snowy trails, and glacial paths.

Our team members and guides will help you all along the way and keep you safe and comfortable. You can observe the golden Himalayan Sunrise from the top of the summit. The beautiful vista can get captured in your mind for a long time. After taking outstanding pictures from the top of the mountain, we will return to the high camp.

After this incredible achievement, you will head down to various settlements before arriving at Khare. You will spend the night at the camp after arriving at the settlement in a short amount of time through a downhill trek.

Day 13: Trek from Mera HC to Khare

Day 14: Trek from Khare to Kothe

We will continue our descending trail on this day from Khare to Kothe. The beautiful routes pass through incredible courses. We will make some ascents before descending for a few hours to arrive at Kothe's settlements.

After walking the natural terrains for 4-5 hours, we will reach the destination for the day. We will then spend the night at a teahouse in Kothe from the destinations. There you can socialize with fellow trekkers and rest for the night.

Day 17: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu

The beautiful Mera Peak climbing adventure ends in Kathmandu as you take a scenic mountain flight from Lukla. The beautiful mountain from Lukla to Kathmandu will provide you with the best views of the entire region. You will cherish the best climbing experience for a long time. After reaching Kathmandu, you can travel to your desired destination.

Please note that this is the only guideline and outline program from day-by-day itinerary. There can be a lot of changes in those dates as per the weather and mountain conditions as well as personal health condition.

Day 15: Trek from Kothe to Thuli Kharka

Trek duration: 4 to 5 hours

Maximum altitude: 4,300 m

We will pass through the beautiful, challenging terrain on this trekking day to finally arrive at Thuli Kharka. The elevation of the region is 4300 meters. There are various uphill and downhills terrains in this section of the trek.

There are many challenging terrains that you will need to pass through the regions. You can find small streams originating from the Inkhu Khola. You will pass through various chortens along the trail before arriving at the Thuli Kharka. The beautiful settlement of Thuli Kharka is where you will spend the night at a teahouse.

Day 16: Trek from Thuli Kharla to Lukla via Zatrwa La pass.

Trek duration: 6 to 7 hours

Maximum altitude: 4,610 m

On this section of the trek, we will travel through the beautiful foothills of the Himalayas to arrive at Lukla. You will pass through the incredible trails and the Zariwala pass from Thuli Kharka. Various paths are challenging and pass through the beautiful terrains of the region, including the Zatrwa La Pass (4610 meters).

The view of the entire region from the Zatrwa La Pass is enthralling. The dense forests of the region will make the trail quite enchanting. The whole duration of the trek is around 6-7 hours. After settling in Lukla, you will spend the night at the lodge or the guest house in the region.

Day 18: Final departure

The final day in Nepal is the last opportunity to enjoy shopping and touring Kathmandu Valley's cultural metropolis before departing for Tribhuvan International Airport on time.
